Gareth Williams

Gareth has over 20 years of experience and research in the field of counselling, psychotherapy and mindfulness. He offers a confidential service tailored to each individual.

His approach to therapy integrates mindfulness, compassion, recent developments in cognitive behaviour therapy, humanistic psychotherapy, and a holistic understanding of mind and body.

Gareth studied shamanism and transpersonal psychology as part of a masters degree in music in the 90s. He then worked for 2 years as a full-time volunteer at Lothlorien therapeutic community in Scotland. In the decades following this, he trained in a wide variety of psychological therapies including person-centred counselling, process-oriented psychology, emotion-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and compassion-focused therapy.

Gareth is a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy registered therapist and has been in practice since 1999. He has worked for Rethink, Visyon, and Mind, and currently teaches on the doctorate in counselling psychology at Manchester University. Gareth is a director of the not-for-profit community interest company, Mindfulness for All. He is also a UK registered mindfulness teacher and supervisor for the Mindfulness Association.
